The grandeur, royalty and architectural excellence of Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, reside in its majestic pink monuments. When the Prince of Wales visited Jaipur in 1853, the whole city was painted pink (his favorite) to welcome him. In this way, all the major monuments of red and pink sandstone serve as the main attraction for heritage tourism in Rajasthan . Of all the amazing architectural wonders of the colorful city of Jaipur, the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds) is a major landmark.   Story   Hawa Mahal in Jaipur is one such structure which shows a wonderful blend of Rajputana and Mughal architecture. The palace, built on five floors, is enhanced with white quicklime. The best thing about the structure is that it is shaped like a crown that adorns the head of Lord Krishna.   Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh of Jaipur ordered the construction of the Hawa Mahal in 1799. It is basically built in the city palace, enlarging the zenana or women's rooms (the harem rooms)
